Maxie’s Southern Comfort
|O||½ lb Bacon, chopped fine|
|O||½ cup Flour|
|O||Buttermilk biscuits, homemade or pre-packaged|
|O||Salt and Black Pepper to Taste|
|O||Fried onion strings, French’s|
|O||Cracked black pepper|
|O||1 lb Malone’s Mild and Hot|
- Sweet the onion in the butter until soft. Add in the bacon and cook to render. Add Malone’s Hot. When melted add the flour to combine.
- Add milk and bring to a simmer. Cook until the sauce thickens slightly. Season with the salt and pepper to taste.
- Halve warm biscuits. Spoon gravy on top of bottom half of biscuits. Add slice of Malone’s Mild. Spoon more gravy on slices and cover with biscuit tops.
- Serve with sunny side up eggs, top eggs with fried onion strings and cracked black pepper.
