Maxie’s Southern Comfort
Ingredients
O | ½ lb Bacon, chopped fine |
O | ½ cup Flour |
O | Buttermilk biscuits, homemade or pre-packaged |
O | Eggs, Onion |
O | Butter, Milk |
O | Salt and Black Pepper to Taste |
O | Fried onion strings, French’s |
O | Cracked black pepper |
O | 1 lb Malone’s Mild and Hot |
Directions
- Sweet the onion in the butter until soft. Add in the bacon and cook to render. Add Malone’s Hot. When melted add the flour to combine.
- Add milk and bring to a simmer. Cook until the sauce thickens slightly. Season with the salt and pepper to taste.
- Halve warm biscuits. Spoon gravy on top of bottom half of biscuits. Add slice of Malone’s Mild. Spoon more gravy on slices and cover with biscuit tops.
- Serve with sunny side up eggs, top eggs with fried onion strings and cracked black pepper.
